Slam Dunk Contest legend Mac McClung made history on Tuesday night in the G League.

McClung became the G League's all-time leading scorer as part of his 59-point outing for the Windy City Bulls in a 134-133 loss to the Birmingham Squadron.

McClung passed Renaldo Major's mark of 5,299 points that has stood since 2017. He needed just 253 games between the tip-off tournament, regular season and playoffs to break the record.

By comparison, Major ranks second all-time in G League games played (401). He played 10 seasons in the league.

McClung is currently playing his fifth season in the G League. The 27-year-old is averaging 31.8 points per game in 29 starts for the Bulls during the 2025-26 regular season.

The Bulls signed McClung to a two-way contract on Feb. 5. He appeared in Chicago's game against the Toronto Raptors that same day, scoring four points off the bench in a 123-107 loss.

Despite going undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2021, McClung has become a cult hero among hardcore NBA fans for his unique dunking prowess. He won the Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star weekend in three consecutive years from 2023 to '25.

McClung and Nate Robinson are the only players in the history of the Dunk Contest to win three titles.
