Jayson Tatum Injury Updates, Status for Celtics' Game 7 vs. 76ers in NBA Playoffs

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum is now questionable for Saturday's win-or-go home showdown against the Philadelphia 76ers.

According to the Celtics, Tatum was downgraded to questionable with left knee stiffness early Saturday afternoon.

Appearing on Get Up on Friday morning, ESPN's Shams Charania said indications were "positive" regarding Tatum's status after he sat out the majority of the fourth quarter of Thursday's Game 6 loss after appearing to experience some left leg discomfort.

"I'm told Jayson Tatum told some teammates after the game he's fine, he's good to go," Charania said.

"I expect to play," Tatum told reporters. "It was my other leg, not the one I injured last year. I mean, I wasn't like overly concerned."

Tatum dealing with any sort of leg injury will sound some alarm bells for the Celtics after he tore his right Achilles tendon during last year's playoffs.

Tatum made a remarkable recovery from that injury and returned to Boston's lineup on March 6. Through six playoff games, he's averaged 22.3 points while playing 36.3 minutes a night.

The Celtics enter Saturday night as 7.5-point favorites (h/t FanDuel SportsBook) over the 76ers, who have already won two road games this series.
