Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo is tabbing a legend to help prepare the Spartans for their Sweet 16 showdown against UConn on Friday.

Izzo said on Up and Adams that Hall of Famer and Michigan State alum Magic Johnson will speak to the players on Tuesday before they meet the Huskies in the NCAA Tournament.

Before starring for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, Johnson played for the Spartans from 1977 to 1979 and led the team to its first national championship in his final year.

Izzo, who has been Michigan State's head coach since 1995, has had a close relationship with Johnson for years. He once joked about having Johnson help with recruiting players now that it can be done legally.

Izzo is no stranger to March Madness success, so Johnson speaking to the Spartans before Friday's game against the Huskies will surely benefit them as they try to make it to the Elite Eight for the second straight year.
