Latest Moses Moody Update, Rumors on Warriors Guard's Status, Return Timeline After Gruesome Injury

Adam WellsMar 24, 2026

The injuries keep piling up for the Golden State Warriors, with Moses Moody being the latest member of the team to go down in Monday's overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Moody suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee and will be out for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the game they were still awaiting test results, but "it sure looked bad" when Moody's knee buckled as he was going for a layup late in overtime.

"We don't know what it is, but it sure looked bad," Kerr said. "Just hoping for the best."

The play occurred when Moody was on a fast-break after stealing a pass from Cooper Flagg and had a wide-open look at the basket, but his left knee buckled as he planted to go up.

Moody had to be put on a stretcher to be removed from the court. He underwent X-rays after the game.

ESPN's Anthony Slater noted the Warriors said Moody would have an MRI on Tuesday after the Warriors returned home.

"It's brutal, you know we've been waiting to get back healthy," Draymond Green told NBA on ESPN Radio (h/t Slater). "Moses is a guy who does everything right... and he changed the game for us tonight."

Golden State's injury report has been extensive for some time. Monday night, for instance, the team was without Stephen Curry, Al Horford, Quinten Post and Seth Curry.

Moody was back in the lineup after missing 10 straight games due to a sprained right wrist. He scored a team-high 23 points in 34 minutes to help the Warriors snap their three-game losing streak.

The Warriors (34-38) remain comfortably in 10th place for the final play-in spot in the Western Conference. They are nine games up on the New Orleans Pelicans with 10 games remaining in the regular season.

Golden State will be off on Tuesday before hosting the Brooklyn Nets at Chase Center on Wednesday night.
