Did Scottie Pippen Shade Michael Jordan, Claim GOAT Status in New Trending Soda Commercial?
NBA legend Scottie Pippen rarely turns down an opportunity to take a swipe at former Chicago Bulls teammate Michael Jordan, and he may have lobbed another volley.
In a new ad for Mr. Pibb, Pippen is situated in a scene that somewhat resembles the location for a lot of Michael Jordan's on-camera interviews in The Last Dance. He then went a step further by seemingly alluding to his long-perceived sidekick status alongside MJ.

"When something has been considered second-best for so long, we just blindly accept that it's gospel," he said.
The narrator then references a "decades-long plot built on marketing, social media" before Pippen chimes in to say "multi-part documentaries" as well.
The Last Dance, which chronicled Jordan and the Bulls' dynasty in the 1990s, seemed to have exposed some old wounds for Pippen.
In his memoir, which GQ excerpted in 2021, the Hall of Famer argued the documentary focused too much on Jordan when its 10-episode length could've dedicated more time to other key figures.
"Even in the second episode, which focused for a while on my difficult upbringing and unlikely path to the NBA, the narrative returned to MJ and his determination to win," Pippen wrote. "I was nothing more than a prop. His 'best teammate of all time,' he called me. He couldn't have been more condescending if he tried.
"On second thought, I could believe my eyes. I spent a lot of time around the man. I knew what made him tick. How naïve I was to expect anything else."
Nearly six years on from its initial release, Pippen is still trying to set the record straight, at least from his perspective.
