After passing Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list, Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant opened up about the NBA legend's influence on him growing up.

While speaking with his business partner and Boardroom co-founder Rich Kleiman (17:30 mark), Durant reminisced about his favorite Jordan sneakers. He revealed that his first pair of Jordan shoes weren't even a signature numbered pair, but rather a Team Jordan pair released in 1999.

"At that point, everybody just wanted anything Jordan," Durant explained. "If it wasn't the 11's or whatever number was out at the time, those were the next best option, and those were fire."

Durant then managed to get his hands on a pair of Retro Bred Jordan 11's, and in his words, "That was it." He went on to list the sneakers he's loved over the years.

"That was my favorite for sentimental reasons," he said around the 18:20 mark. "My favorite to hoop in, I would say, the Jordan 19. The Jordan 19 was fire, had the big web on the front... Those Jordans are my favorite to play in. But I like the 9's to just walk around in."

Durant scored 27 points to pass Jordan for fifth place on the NBA's career scoring list in Saturday's 123-122 win over the Miami Heat.

The 37-year-old is still at the top of his game, and he will look to continue adding to his career point total when the Rockets (43-27) face the Chicago Bulls (28-42) on Monday night.
