Greensboro Police Troll March Madness Fans After UNC's Upset vs. VCU Busts Brackets, 'Don't Call Us'
There were a lot of people basking in the glow of North Carolina's loss to VCU in the first round of the NCAA men's tournament on Thursday, including the Greensboro Police Department.
In a post on X, the Greensboro PD trolled the Tar Heels by saying "don't call us about UNC and your bracket."
Really, if people were calling about anything, it might be to report a theft because VCU stole a win after North Carolina looked like it would roll to an easy win.
North Carolina led by as many as 19 points in the second half. The lead was still at 14 on Jarin Stevenson's three with 7:11 remaining.
From that point on, though, the Tar Heels were outscored 19-5 to close out the second half. They needed a Terrence Hill Jr. layup with 11 seconds left to force overtime.
North Carolina was outscored 7-3 and missed all six field-goal attempts it took in the overtime period. Hubert Davis' team finished 12-of-20 from the free-throw line.
In three games since Caleb Wilson was ruled out for the season due to a broken thumb, North Carolina went 0-3. This is the second consecutive year the Tar Heels have lost in the first round of the tournament.
