While he's no longer quite as dominant as he was at his peak earlier in his illustrious career, that he is still among the league's top playmakers is a testament to both his talent and incredible longevity.
The Lakers have already lost star guards Luka Doncic (hamstring) and Austin Reaves (oblique) for the rest of the regular season, so it's understandable that they'd want to be cautious with James ahead of the postseason.
James' next opportunity to suit up will be Thursday night against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
