Watch Drew Allar Throw at Penn State Pro Day amid Injury Rehab Ahead of 2026 NFL Draft

Adam WellsMar 18, 2026

Wednesday was one of the first big days on the college pro day schedule, with Penn State among seven schools holding workouts for its pro prospects in front of NFL scouts.

One of the most intriguing players for the Nittany Lions is quarterback Drew Allar, who is almost certain to be selected at some point in the 2026 NFL draft.

Allar did get to show off some of his NFL bonafides last month during the scouting combine. He didn't take part in any drills in Indianapolis after having surgery in October to repair a broken ankle, but did get his measurements taken and showed off a strong arm while throwing to receivers.

That was the case once again on Wednesday, as Allar clearly has the arm strength to play in the NFL. He connected with Devonte Ross, Kyron Hudson and Trebor Peña on deep shots during his workout.

The Allar-Ross connection was working throughout the day, including this hookup on a deep crosser.

B/R's NFL scouting department has Allar ranked as the fourth-best quarterback and No. 101 overall prospect in the 2026 draft class. He is behind Fernando Mendoza, Ty Simpson and Garrett Nussmeier on the quarterback list.

In his full scouting report of Allar, Damian Parsons' pro comp for the Penn State standout was "Daniel Jones with Joe Flacco's arm talent."

The top criticism of Allar's game by Parsons were his inconsistent mechanics and needing to refine his footwork to improve his accuracy. It's not hard to envision him being able to fix that working with pro coaches on a daily basis.

Whether that is able to translate into games when opposing defenders are coming at him is another story. In 29 games over two seasons from 2023 to '24, Allar threw for 5,958 yards, 49 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

If Allar does get selected, he will be the first Penn State quarterback drafted into the NFL since Sean Clifford in 2023. The last time a Nittany Lions quarterback was selected before day three was 2016 when Christian Hackenberg went in the second round (No. 51 overall) to the New York Jets.
