Arizona Beats Houston to Win Big 12 Title as CBB Fans Make Case for NCAA's No. 1 Overall Seed
The Arizona Wildcats finished off their NCAA tournament resume with a win in the Big 12 tournament final over the Houston Cougars.
Arizona made the final case on Saturday night that it should be the No. 1 overall seed on Selection Sunday.
Arizona is already locked into a No. 1 seed because of its regular-season and conference tournament double in the Big 12.
The Wildcats beat Houston on two occasions, including in Saturday's final, went 1-1 against Kansas and picked up nonconference wins over Florida, UConn and Alabama.
At minimum, Arizona should get to play its games on the west coast before the Final Four in Indianapolis. The Wildcats are likely headed to the West region, which will be played in San Jose. Their opening-weekend games will likely be played in San Diego.
For the No. 1 overall seed, Arizona probably needs Duke and/or Michigan to stumble in their respective conference tournament finals. Even if that doesn't happen, Arizona at least can be in the conversation to top the 68-team field.
