Rick Pitino Posts Video of SJU Mascot Walking to Big East Tournament Game, Jokes About Travel Budget

St. John's head coach Rick Pitino joked about the school's travel budget while posting a video of the Red Storm's mascot walking to a Big East tournament matchup with Seton Hall on Friday.

"Small budget for travel," Pitino wrote in the caption of the post on X.

St. John's has already won consecutive Big East outright regular-season titles for first time in program history and is looking to win the conference tournament for a second straight year.

The Johnnies currently sit at 26-6 with an 18-2 mark against Big East foes. They wrapped up an 85-72 win over Providence in the conference tournament quarterfinals on Thursday.

Seton Hall owns a 21-11 record, but has only gone 10-10 against Big East competition. This includes a recent 72-65 loss to St. John's on March 6.

Still, the Pirates will look to pull off an upset victory over Pitino's squad after taking down Creighton in a quarterfinal matchup on Thursday.

Tip-off between St. John's and Seton Hall is on Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET.
