Big East Tournament 2026 Men's Bracket, TV Schedule, Dates, Bracketology Predictions
The St. John's Red Storm begin their quest to repeat as Big East Tournament champion as the No. 1 seed.
St. John's edged out the UConn Huskies by a game in the regular-season standings. UConn fell on Saturday to the Marquette Golden Eagles to drop to the No. 2 seed.
St. John's and UConn are more than likely headed for a third meeting this season in Saturday's final inside Madison Square Garden.
The Villanova Wildcats were the only other Big East team to win more than 10 games in league play.
Villanova went 0-4 against St. John's and UConn, so unless an upset occurs at MSG, the pair of Big East powers will get one more shot at each other.

Predictions
2 of 2
St. John's and UConn have been far and away the two best teams in the Big East this season.
The Red Storm and Huskies combined to go 35-5 in conference play. St. John's suffered a single loss, which came at the hands of UConn, since January 6.
UConn stumbled a bit in February with three losses, but it also held St. John's to 40 points on February 25.
The Red Storm and Huskies are far better than the rest of the conference when they play at their best.
Villanova is the only other realistic winner of the Big East tournament based off regular-season record. But it's hard to make a case for the Wildcats to beat both UConn and St. John's in New York after they went 0-4 against them in the regular season.
No other team in the conference won more than 10 league games, so there won't even be a chase of an NCAA tournament spot to monitor.
St. John's is playing the better basketball right now, so it has to be considered the favorite to cut down the nets on its home floor.
You'd have to think the Red Storm also have revenge on their minds as well after the 40-point showing in Connecticut two weeks ago.
Prediction: St. John's over UConn
