In just his third NBA game, Washington Wizards rookie forward Julian Reese posted 18 points and 20 rebounds (10 offensive) in a 122-112 home loss to the Utah Jazz.

Reese's older sister, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese, was in attendance and praised his performance.

The Reese siblings share something in common after Julian's outing.

Reese scored his 18 points on just seven shots (5-of-7) and made all eight of his free throws.

His work on the glass, though, got people talking.

Reese, who played at Maryland for four seasons, nearly averaged a double-double over his final two campaigns (13.7 PPG, 9.5 RPG in 2023-24 and 13.3 PPG, 9.0 RPG in 2024-25).

He went undrafted out of college but signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Toronto Raptors in October. He played 14 games for Raptors 905, averaging 6.8 points and 6.2 boards in just 16.6 minutes per contest.

On Feb. 28, Reese signed a two-way contract with the Wizards, who have been significantly shorthanded due to injures and are notably without a few key big men with ailments, including Alex Sarr, Anthony Davis and Tristan Vukcevic.

Reese was thrown into the fire quickly, playing 28 minutes in his NBA debut two days later and earning 33 minutes of court time one day later. Over those two contests, Reese posted 11 total points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Now, in his third game, Reese enjoyed a fantastic breakout, and he'll certainly be featured down the stretch as the Wizards embark on their final 20 regular season games.

A road date with the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday looms next.
