March Madness 2026 Tournament Schedule, Bracketology Predictions and Bubble Teams
The madness has arrived in all of its buzzer-beating, bubble-bursting, bracket-busting glory.
OK, so the 2026 NCAA men's basketball tournament hasn't started yet, but we've officially reached the runway.
Smaller conferences are tipping off their tournaments now and will be doling out automatic bids soon. The bigger ones will start those squabbles in a week and hand out those invitations leading up to (or even on) Selection Sunday.
So, who's sitting the prettiest in this crowded field of championship chasers? And who's poised to sweat out that selection process? We'll tackle both topics while highlighting the top and low ends of the bracket.

Who Are the No. 1 Seeds?
2 of 3
The top seed lines don't show a ton of room for debate.
Three of the four spots already seem claimed: by Duke, Arizona and Michigan. The question, then, comes down to the firmness of UConn's grasp on that last one.
The Huskies are doing what they can to get this across the finish line. Last week's 32-point clobbering of St. John's surely helped. And while their in-conference schedule hasn't featured many juggernauts, their non-conference slate included wins over Florida, Illinois, Kansas and BYUāand a four-point loss to Arizona.
The Gators aren't going away, though. They might be as threatening as ever, actually, as their 10-game winning streak seemingly keeps growing more dominant. You have to go back to their Feb. 14 contest with Kentucky to find the last time an opponent even stayed within 10 points of them.
UConn is still the clear leader, so it should have control over how this plays out. But if the Huskies have a stumble in them, the Gators are close enough (and hot enough) to answer opportunity's knock.
Bubble Watch
3 of 3
What's more incredible: that a talented USC team that seldom broke a sweat during a 12-1 start to the season hasn't locked up a tournament berth yet, or that a team that has lost five straight and just split from leading scorer Chad Baker-Mazara hasn't already been eliminated? Who knows, but the Trojans' tourney chances are looking awfully slim.
Sticking in the Big Ten, things look better for Iowa, UCLA and Ohio State. The latter can't afford to exhale just yet, but Saturday's statement win over Purdue boosted the Buckeyes' chances tremendously.
Elsewhere, Auburn is amassing one of the most baffling tournament resumes in the country. Their 14 losses feel like way too much, yet they've had some high-quality triumphs, and a few of those defeats came against high-profile opponents. It's more likely than not that they'll miss out, but maybe things feel awfully different if they can win at Alabama on Saturday.
Finally, the Big 12 bubble watch revolves around TCU and Cincinnati, who just so happen to lock horns in Saturday's regular-season finale. Neither has had a great season, but they are coming in hot: the Bearcats have won six of their last seven (including a 16-point takedown of Kansas), while the Horned Frogs have seven wins (two over top-10 teams) to show for their last eight contests.
