Latest A.J. Brown Trade Rumors on Eagles' Asking Price, Interest in WR After NFL Combine
Philadelphia Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown is one of the most coveted players on the trade market this offseason, and it sounds like teams around the league aren't backing down from Philadelphia's high asking price.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has "remained firm" in his stance that it will take a "big package" to trade Brown away, but teams "remain interested" in the three-time Pro Bowler.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo added that it would have to be a deal similar to the Dallas Cowboys' acquisition of star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams from the New York Jets, meaning "a potential first-round pick with a second-round sweetener."
Earlier this offseason, Roseman indicated that he would prefer to retain Brown despite his frustrating 2025 campaign. However, ESPN's Peter Schrager recently reported that there was a "difference in tone" from Roseman at the NFL scouting combine last week, opening the door for teams to try to convince him to deal away Philadelphia's prized wideout.
Garafolo went on to explain that teams have been pitching offers to Roseman, but if his trade demands aren't met, he wouldn't hesitate to hold onto Brown.
"My understanding is, teams are making offers to the Eagles for a trade, and to this point, they have not gotten to the point at which the Eagles would make the move," Garafolo said. "... If they don't get close to that point, or to that point, I don't think Howie Roseman moves him. I think he keeps A.J. Brown in the fold. He's a really good player. He is highly valued in that building."
However, the uncertainty surrounding Brown's future could impact Philadelphia's plans for this offseason. The 28-year-old is set to make $29 million during the 2026 season, and Garafolo reported that "all the money that's committed to A.J. if he remains with the team is affecting their ability to sign other free agents," namely veteran tight end Dallas Goedert.
Still, it appears that Philadelphia isn't in a rush to send Brown to another team as Roseman and company try to revamp the roster in hopes of competing for another Super Bowl title.
"The Eagles are not feeling like, 'Well, we have to trade A.J.' It's 'Are teams gonna come up and make that offer to meet that price,'" Garafolo said.
