A.J. Brown Trade Rumors Discussed by Eagles GM Roseman, 'Hard to Find Great Players'

Doric SamJan 15, 2026

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is rumored to be a trade candidate this offseason, but general manager Howie Roseman pumped the brakes on that notion.

While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Roseman indicated that Brown is the type of player that the Eagles would like to keep in the fold.

"It's hard to find great players in the NFL, and A.J.'s a great player," Roseman said when asked if he'd be open to trading Brown, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "That's what we're going out and looking for, when we go out in free agency and the draft, is trying to find great players who love football, and he's that guy. So that would be my answer."

Brown has been with the Eagles for the past four seasons since being acquired from the Tennessee Titans. He's one of the top receivers in the league, but his unhappiness in Philadelphia has been apparent for quite some time.

Brown aired out his frustrations with his usage this season during a livestream in November, as he was asked if everything was going well, and he responded, "I mean, no. Where have you been? Family is good. Everything else, no. It's a s--t show." ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported that Brown's comments prompted a meeting with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie in which the star wideout "promised Lurie that he would stop complaining on social media" and "told Lurie that he just wants to be a part of the offense and is frustrated."

Despite the meeting with Lurie, Brown let his emotions boil over once again when he was seen in a sideline confrontation with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni during the team's loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card Round, which ended Philadelphia's chances for a second straight Super Bowl title. Brown finished with three catches for 25 yards in the game and didn't stay to talk to reporters afterward.

It sounds like Roseman is hoping to keep Brown on the roster, but it's clear that there's some work that will need to be done to repair the relationship between him and the Eagles.
