Latest A.J. Brown Trade Rumors on 'Difference of Tone' Around Eagles WR's Status
Philadelphia Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown reportedly could be closer to being out the door this offseason.
ESPN's Peter Schrager reported during Thursday's episode of Get Up that there's been a "difference in tone" from Eagles general manager Howie Roseman at the NFL scouting combine this week when it comes to Brown, and it now appears that he's "listening" to trade offers for the three-time Pro Bowler.

Roseman discussed the situation with CBS Sports:
After Philadelphia's 2025 campaign came to an end last month with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL Wild Card Round, Roseman pushed back on the notion of trading Brown.
"It's hard to find great players in the NFL, and A.J.'s a great player," Roseman said at the time when asked if he'd be open to trading the star wideout, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "That's what we're going out and looking for, when we go out in free agency and the draft, is trying to find great players who love football, and he's that guy. So that would be my answer."
The NFL scouting combine is typically where the offseason truly begins to take shape, as GMs and other executives are able to hold discussions that start mapping out their plans ahead of the start of free agency. Schrager noted that "Howie Roseman at this time of the year is always listening, that's his mantra." However, he went on to explain why the Eagles might wait to trade Brown.
"The truth of the matter is, it is cost-prohibitive for them to trade him before June 1st. That's a $40 million dead cap hit, so there are financial barriers here for the A.J. Brown trade," Schrager said.
Still, it sounds like it's increasingly more likely that Brown will be wearing a new uniform in 2026, and it's just a matter of time until a deal gets done.
