Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel made NBA history during Thursday night's road win against the Indiana Pacers.

Knueppel recorded his 207th career three-pointer against the Pacers to break the rookie single-season record set in 2023 by the Sacramento Kings' Keegan Murray.

He ultimately recorded eight three-pointers in the Hornets' 133-109 victory over the Pacers.

Murray set the previous rookie record in 80 games of his 2022-23 campaign with the Kings.

It took Knueppel just 59 games with the Hornets to surpass the mark.

Knueppel initially tied Murray's record with his 206th career three-pointer in the final minute of the second quarter to help the Hornets climb out to a 67-46 lead.

His record-breaking three-pointer late in the third quarter helped the Hornets extend their advantage to 103-77.

Knueppel finished out the night with 28 points in 31 minutes while shooting 10-for-17 from the field and 8-for-12 from deep.

The 20-year-old now has 22 games remaining in his rookie season during which he can extend the rookie three-point record.

The Hornets selected Knueppel with the No. 4 pick of the 2025 NBA draft after watching him make 40.6 percent of his shots from deep during his single season at Duke.

Knueppel went into Thursday's game ranked second only to his former Blue Devils teammate Cooper Flagg for the rookie scoring lead after averaging 19.3 points through 58 contests.

He was also leading all rookies with 7.9 percent three-point attempts per game, while making 43.6 percent of his attempts from deep.

Knueppel has been a key part of the reason the Hornets have climbed back up to the edge of the play-in picture by stringing together a nine-game win streak in late January.

The Hornets have now strung together another three straight wins with Thursday's victory over the Pacers, potentially taking the franchise one step closer to its first playoff appearance since 2016.
