Devin Booker Injured vs. Spurs, Latest Updates and Timeline on Suns Star
Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker exited the team's clash with the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday due to right hip soreness and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Booker checked out of the contest in the first quarter and wasn't visible on Phoenix's bench. He eventually returned in the second and was about to check back into the game, but ultimately entered the Suns' locker room.
He finished with five points and one rebound in nine minutes on the floor, shooting 2-of-6 from the field.
Booker has been impacted by injuries as of late, as he already missed eight of Phoenix's previous 10 games heading into Thursday's action due to aย right ankle sprain.
The Suns will be hoping that the 29-year-old's latest hip issue isn't too serious, as he's served as their offensive engine this season.
Booker entered the matchup with San Antonio averaging 25.2 points and 6.3 assists to go along with 4.0 rebounds per game, shooting 45.5 percent from the field.
His overall productivity has been particularly impressive considering his long-range accuracy hasn't been as sharp this year, as he's connected on a career-low 31.1 percent of his threes.
Still, Booker has helped the Suns exceed expectations and own the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference standings with a 32-23 record.
Jordan Goodwin entered Phoenix's starting lineup to open the second half of Thursday's contest in place of Booker and should continue to receive more opportunities for as long as he's sidelined.
