Jeremy Sochan made his debut for the New York Knicks on Thursday during their home game with the Detroit Pistons, and he received a loud ovation from the Madison Square Garden crowd while sporting orange-and-blue hair to represent his new team's colors.

The Spurs waived Sochan on Wednesday, Feb. 11, but the Knicks signed him just two days later.

The Spurs selected Sochan out of Baylor with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. He was on the All-Rookie team and ultimately averaged 11.4 points on 46.8 percent shooting, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 27.3 minutes per game.

However, Sochan fell out of the rotation this season, playing just 28 games (no starts) and posting 12.8 minutes on average. He routinely stayed sidelined and hadn't played more than 15 minutes in a game since Dec. 5.

Obviously, a parting of ways made sense at this point, and now Sochan gets a new opportunity to join the rotation with the Knicks, who entered Thursday in third place in the Eastern Conference.
