Caleb Wilson Declares for 2026 NBA Draft, Scouting Report and Projected Landing Spot for UNC Star
North Carolina standout forward Caleb Wilson declared for the 2026 NBA draft on Monday after one season in Chapel Hill.
This comes after he appeared to hint at his impending decision in an Instagram post last month.

"never take it for granted #8out," Wilson wrote in his post.
Wilson is coming off an impressive freshman season with the Tar Heels, averaging 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds to go along with 2.7 assists per game. He only shot 25.9 percent from three-point territory, but was still efficient around the basket and connected on 57.8 percent of his overall field goals.
The 19-year-old also made his presence felt defensively, recording 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks on a nightly basis.
It's worth noting that Wilson's season came to an early end due to a fractured bone in his left hand that he suffered on Feb. 10.
Still, he served as a key piece on a North Carolina squad that finished with a 24-9 record before falling in the first round of the 2026 NCAA tournament.
Wilson shouldn't have to wait too long to hear his name called on draft night, as he was projected to be selected by the Sacramento Kings with the No. 4 overall pick in the March 24 mock draft from Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman.
"Widely viewed as the No. 4 prospect or a top-five lock, Wilson exceeded expectations with the effectiveness (19.8 points, 9.4 boards, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.4 blocks) of his athleticism, transition ball-handling, two-point shotmaking, passing and defensive playmaking," Wasserman wrote.
The 2026 NBA draft will be held in late June.
