Kyrie Irving Injury Update, Latest Rumors on Mavs Star After Comments on Trending Video

Julia StumbaughFeb 15, 2026

Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving is planning to provide an update on the ACL injury that has sidelined him for the entirety of the 2025-26 season at some point after the NBA All-Star break, he said in a Saturday Twitch livestream.

"You guys will definitely get an update soon, on everything, after the All-Star break," Irving said in his livestream.

Irving continued, "For all you guys asking questions, just about, am I excited about this year, or am I excited about next year— it doesn't really matter, guys. I'll give you an update when the time is right."

The day after Irving's Twitch stream, Dallas Hoops Journal's Grant Afseth reported that Irving has "advanced steadily" in his recovery from his ACL injury.

Irving has not played since March 3 when he suffered a season-ending ACL tear in his left knee. Just under 11 months have passed since he underwent surgery on the injury on March 26.

"Multiple sources told DallasHoopsJournal.com that Irving is expected to be physically able to play after the All-Star break," Afseth reported Saturday.

According to Afseth, Irving has been participating in "competitive one-on-one work" with the Mavericks coaching staff while moving "fluidly" and maintaining "explosiveness."

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said in his most recent update on Irving back in January that Irving wouldn't come back to practice until at least after the All-Star break, but that there was currently no timeline for his return.

Kidd stressed at the time that the Mavericks' position in the standings wouldn't impact when Irving returns. The Mavs, whose deadline sale included sending Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards, currently sit at No. 12 in the West with a 19-35 record.

The 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend wraps up Sunday with a three-team round robin tournament. The Mavericks are set to return to action next Friday with a road game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
