Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown compared the team's current productivity to its 2024-25 squad on social media.

Brown shared a post on his Instagram story examining the similarities between both Celtics teams by using their record, playoff seed, offensive rating, defensive rating and net rating at the All-Star break.

Boston remaining a contender in the Eastern Conference is particularly impressive considering six-time All-Star Jayson Tatum is still recovering from a torn Achilles that he suffered in May 2025.

The Celtics also parted ways with multiple key contributors from their 2024 championship-winning squad prior to their 2025-26 campaign.

They traded veteran guard Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers in June 2025 before sending forward Kristaps Porziņģis to the Atlanta Hawks as part of a separate deal just one day later.

Other members of Boston's frontcourt rotation including Al Horford and Luke Kornet both departed in free agency during the 2025 offseason.

Still, the Celtics have a strong chance to clinch their 12th consecutive playoff appearance largely due to Brown's efforts.

He's stepped up as Boston's No. 1 scoring option in Tatum's absence, ranking No. 4 in the NBA by averaging 29.3 points per game. Brown is also recording a career-high 6.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists on a nightly basis.

The 29-year-old has remained relatively efficient despite being tasked with a larger role, shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from behind the arc.

Although it isn't a certainty that Tatum will return this season, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Sunday that he's started "controlled five-on-five scrimmaging with coaches" and has "aggressively attacked his rehab at every turn."

Brown has done an admirable job leading the Celtics this season, and it isn't difficult to imagine them going on a deep playoff run if Tatum is able to rejoin the team.
