Karl-Anthony Towns, Knicks Impress Fans with Blowout Win vs. 76ers amid Joel Embiid Injury
After losing to the worst team in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday, the New York Knicks responded with a blowout win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Led by Karl-Anthony Towns, the Knicks downed the Joel Embiid-less Sixers 138-89.
Towns, who was absent for much of Tuesday's loss to the Indiana Pacers because of foul trouble, posted 21 points, 11 boards, five assists, a steal and a block in the win, making up for a quiet game from star Jalen Brunson, who had just eight points.
Swingman Mikal Bridges also had a solid outing with 22 points, and the recently acquired Jose Alvarado put up 26 points off the bench in just 19 minutes.
After the win, fans praised Towns and the Knicks for the dominant performance.
The Knicks had a bit of a mid-season skid in January but have managed to turn things around as of late, winning 10 of their last 12 games. They'll now get some time off for the All-Star break, and they'll look to return to their hot play next week.
