Vince Carter Unveils Brand New Dunk to Tracy McGrady Ahead of NBA Slam Dunk Contest
NBA legend Vince Carter is known for the spectacular dunks he pulled off in the Slam Dunk Contest over the years, but he revealed one dunk he never did in the competition on Wednesday.
On the Cousins podcast, an AMP Sports Original Series, Carter told Tracy McGrady he always wanted to do a dunk where he put two elbows on the rim before throwing it down.
"Two elbows on the rim, then dunk," he said (45:10 mark). "I did it in high school. It's my first time ever telling you. There's three people that I know I can call right now."
McGrady couldn't believe the creativity of the dunk and suggested that someone try it.
"Hold up bro. I can't even picture that. What? Who thinks of that? Two elbows on the rim, bro! The world needs that," he said. "We've never seen anything like that so any of you high jump dunkers out there, flying dunkers, influencers, please. We have a dunk for you. Two elbows on the rim and then take it to a windmill. That's the challenge from VC."
This year's NBA Slam Dunk Contests participants include Carter Bryant of the San Antonio Spurs, Jaxson Hayes of the Los Angeles Lakers, Keshad Johnson of the Miami Heat and Jase Richardson of the Orlando Magic. Perhaps we'll see one of those players attempt Carter's dunk on Saturday.
