How Much Money Will Stewart, Bridges, Players In Hornets-Pistons Brawl Lose After NBA Suspensions?

The NBA officially handed out multi-game suspensions for the players involved in Monday night's massive brawl between the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets, and they all will be losing salary during their absences.

ESPN's Bobby Marks outlined the financial losses for Pistons centers Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren and Hornets forwards Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate:

All four players will begin their suspensions on Wednesday, as the Pistons are taking on the Toronto Raptors, while the Hornets will meet the Atlanta Hawks.

Stewart led the way with a seven-game suspension for "leaving the bench area, aggressively entering an on-court altercation, and fighting," NBA executive vice president and head of basketball operations James Jones announced on Wednesday. This marks his fifth suspension in the NBA, and it was noted that his "repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts" factored into the length of his suspension.

Bridges and Diabate were suspended four games for "fighting and escalating the altercation," while Duren received a two-game suspension for "initiating the altercation and fighting." Duren will still be permitted to play in the All-Star Game after being selected to the showcase event for the first time in his career, per NBA insider Chris Haynes.

All four players were ejected from Monday's game for their roles in the brawl during the Pistons' 110-104 win, which snapped the Hornets' nine-game win streak.

The NBA is certainly hoping that these punishments will be enough to stop the players from participating in another brouhaha like that for the foreseeable future.
