Travis Kelce Says Chiefs' Planned Move from Arrowhead Stadium Will Be 'Kind of Heartbreaking'
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce says it will be bittersweet to see his team move out of Arrowhead Stadium ahead of the 2031 NFL season.
Kelce talked about the Chiefs' plans to move to the other side of the Kansas/Missouri state line around the 55:30 mark of Wednesday's episode of New Heights.
"If you look at that deal, in terms of an owner, that's one of the greatest opportunities you could ever get as an owner," Kelce told his brother Jason Kelce. "And I think it's going to be unbelievable, once it's finally set in stone.

"But it is going to be kind of heartbreaking, knowing that the Chiefs are going to move away from Arrowhead and that side, the Missouri side of Kansas City. It's just a part of the old professional sports. It is a business at the end of the day."
The Chiefs have played at Arrowhead Stadium, the oldest venue in the AFC, since 1972.
The franchise announced in December that they would be moving to a new domed stadium in Kansas City, Missouri after their current stadium lease expires following the 2030 season.
The news came after lawmakers in Kansas pledged to fund 60 percent of the stadium, including $1.8 billion in bonds funded by sales taxes.
That marks the largest public subsidy ever provided to a stadium built in the United States, per Sportico's Eben Novy-Williams and Scott Soshnick.
It is not yet clear if Kelce, who has played 13 seasons in Kansas City, will be returning for one of the Chiefs' final five seasons at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kelce played the 2025 season on an expiring contract. The tight end has yet to commit to a new deal for his age-37 season, although NFL Network's Ian Rapoport recently reported that he "has been in touch with his team about a potential return and Kansas City wants him back."
