Seahawks, Patriots Defenses Amaze NFL Fans with Low-Scoring 1st Half at Super Bowl 60
Through the first two quarters of the Super Bowl, defense has been the story.
The Seattle Seahawks haven't given much to the New England Patriots, allowing just 48 passing yards from quarterback Drake Maye and 34 rushing yards. The Patriots have been effective on defense, too, giving up just 88 passing yards from Sam Darnold and 95 yards on the ground.
Seattle made three field goals but neither team has found the end zone.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
At the break, fans praised the two defenses for showing up early.
Before Sunday's game, the last time the Patriots didn't score in the first quarter of a Super Bowl was 1996, which puts into perspective just how dominant Seattle's defense has been through the early going.
The defensive showdown isn't too much of a surprise considering how good both teams have been on the side of the ball this year. Seattle allowed the fewest points per game this season (17.2) while the Pats allowed the fourth-fewest (18.8).
New England and Seattle have only stepped it up in the postseason. On their way to the Super Bowl, the Seahawks gave up just 16.5 points per game and the Patriots allowed just 8.7.
While neither team has had much success on offense, the fact that Seattle managed to get nine points on the board could go a long way. A nine-point comeback isn't insurmountable, but it's certainly not easy against a top-tier defense like the Seahawks'.
