Ja Morant Offseason Trade Landing Spots Discussed by NBA Fans After Star Isn't Moved at Deadline

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant was rumored to be a trade candidate for months, but he ultimately wasn't moved before Thursday's deadline.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported that sources said that "multiple teams were intrigued by Morant's talent, but none were willing to make a serious offer."

Morant has two guaranteed years remaining on his contract after this season at over $40 million per year. There's still a chance that the Grizzlies explore trading him this summer, especially after his apparent tension with the coaching staff earlier this season that resulted in a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.

After Morant remained in Memphis past Thursday's deadline, fans on social media began discussing his lack of market and wondering about his potential landing spots if he's made available on the trade block in a few months.

The Miami Heat had a relatively quiet trade deadline, so some felt that they could look to make a splash over the summer by acquiring Morant.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that the Heat "discussed whether to pursue" Morant before the deadline but "ultimately decided against it for several reasons." Perhaps Miami will have a change of heart if it looks to add some star power to the roster.

Before the deadline passed, ESPN's Bobby Marks named the Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings as two teams in the mix for Morand.

The Brooklyn Nets were also floated as a potential landing spot for Morant, but that wouldn't necessarily fit with the franchise's plans for a rebuild.

For now, Morant is staying put in Memphis, but the trade speculation surrounding him will surely heat up once the offseason draws nearer.
