Blockbuster NFL Trade Ideas to Get Raiders Star Maxx Crosby Out of Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Raiders' offseason reset may include a blockbuster trade that sends star edge-rusher Maxx Crosby elsewhere. One NFL insider believes they could get more than what the Dallas Cowboys received for three-time All-Pro Micah Parsons.
Fox Sports' Jay Glazer told Yahoo Sports' Jason Fitz and Caroline Fenton that Crosby doesn't want to go through another rebuild, and his time with the Silver and Black could come to an end before April's draft.
Glazer mentioned that the Raiders don't want to trade Crosby. That said, if he wants out, they should be open for business. Las Vegas would save $30.7 million in cap savings by trading the five-time Pro Bowler before June 1, per Over the Cap.
Crosby has played under four full-time head coaches and three defensive coordinators, excluding Rod Marinelli, who was an interim in 2020, though it's not the turnover that may be the tipping point for the 28-year-old's desire to suit up for another team.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that the Raiders have a "strained" relationship with Crosby after they decided to shut him down for the final two games of the 2025 season.
Based on Glazer's projection that the Raiders would receive a massive haul, here are five trade packages that make the most sense. All of these deals include two first-round picks, as in the Parsons trade between the Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.
Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens Get: Edge Maxx Crosby
Las Vegas Raiders Get: 2026 1st-round pick, 2027 1st-round pick, Edge Tavius Robinson, LB Trenton Simpson
No one can replicate what Crosby does on the edge, though the Raiders can pursue young talent to support a full-blown youth movement in their defensive rebuild.
In a deal with the Ravens, the Raiders should inquire about young defenders as the team transitions into a new system under defensive-minded head coach Jesse Minter. As he implements his plans, Baltimore may be willing to part ways with Tavius Robinson and Trenton Simpson, who were fit for the previous regime.
The Ravens selected Simpson and Robinson with back-to-back picks in the third and fourth rounds of the 2023 draft, respectively. Both showed flashes in backup roles in 2025.
Simpson registered 66 tackles, four for loss, and 2.5 sacks while on the field for 36 percent of the defensive snaps. As a situational pass-rusher, Robinson recorded 4.5 sacks and 13 pressures.
In expanded roles, Simpson and Robinson could be impactful playmakers in the front seven.
Linebackers Devin White and Elandon Roberts have expiring contracts. Tyree Wilson hasn't played up to first-round expectations. The Raiders need a promising player in the middle of their defense and help on the edge.
Los Angeles Rams

Las Vegas Raiders Get: 2026 1st-round pick (No. 29 Overall), 2027 1st-round pick, Edge Byron Young
Los Angeles Rams Get: Edge Maxx Crosby, 2027 3rd-rounder
Equipped with two 2026 first-rounders, the Rams may be willing to trade one for a premier pass-rusher in a weak quarterback draft.
Los Angeles has a young edge-rushing duo in Pro Bowlers Jared Verse and Byron Young, but the latter is entering a contract year. If the club doesn't believe it will retain Young, he could be included in a trade for a more accomplished player at the same position.
Crosby and Verse could become the league's most dominant pass-rushing pair.
Meanwhile, Young can develop into a lead edge-rusher in Las Vegas. Coming off a 12-sack season, the 27-year-old has star potential, though the Raiders would likely need to pay him within the next year to make the deal worth giving up a 2027 pick for him.
Both teams win in this scenario.
New England Patriots

Las Vegas Raiders Get: 2026 1st-round pick, 2027 1st-round pick, G Mike Onwenu
New England Patriots Get: Edge Maxx Crosby
While on Radio Row at the Super Bowl, The Athletic's Dianna Russini said Crosby told her that he would like to play for Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.
With this deal, New England would address its most glaring defensive weakness. For the 2025 season, the club tied for 22nd in sacks (35) and ranked 24th in pressure rate (20.3 percent).
Furthermore, Crosby is younger than 29-year-old edge-rusher Harold Landry, and K'Lavon Chaisson will be a free agent who could command a massive salary after logging 7.5 sacks, 23 pressures and 11 tackles for loss this season.
From the Raiders' perspective, guard Mike Onwenu would serve as an interior pass-protector for presumptive No. 1 pick, Fernando Mendoza and fill a need with guard Dylan Parham and interior offensive lineman Jordan Meredith headed for free agency.
Seattle Seahawks

Las Vegas Raiders Get: 2026 1st-round pick, 2027 1st-round pick, Edge Derick Hall, S Julian Love
Seattle Seahawks Get: Edge Maxx Crosby
Like the New England Patriots, the Seattle Seahawks can continue to strengthen their defense after a Super Bowl appearance.
Crosby would join the league's No. 1 scoring defense and a Super Bowl contender under lead skipper Mike Macdonald, who coaches that side of the ball. It's a good match from a player and coaching perspective.
The Raiders can acquire a proven playmaker in Julian Love, who's better suited to play free safety than Jeremy Chinn and Isaiah Pola-Mao because of his coverage skills. He's allowed a passer rating below 90 in four consecutive seasons and recorded 10 interceptions and 33 pass breakups in that span.
In 2024, Derick Hall showed pass-rushing potential, logging 29 pressures and eight sacks. This year, he played in a reduced role, taking the field for 46 percent of the defensive snaps behind edge-rusher DeMarcus Lawrence, whom the Seahawks signed last offseason. With a snap count closer to the 60 percent rate of his 2024 campaign, Hall could be a breakout candidate in Las Vegas.
Keep in mind that Seattle and Las Vegas may be more willing to make a deal with Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak set to become the Raiders' head coach. While he can coach up the offense, don't be surprised if he takes some of Macdonald's assistants with him, which would ease the transition for Hall and Love to Las Vegas.
Washington Commanders

Las Vegas Raiders Get: 2026 1st-round pick, 2027 1st-round pick, 2027 4th-round pick, DL Jer'Zhan Newton
Washington Commanders Get: Edge Maxx Crosby
Crosby may not be thrilled about going to a team that went 5-12 this season, though the Commanders are just one year removed from a run to the NFC Championship Game.
Also, Washington may be more aggressive in acquiring top-tier playmakers with pressure on the coaching staff to get this team back into playoff contention while quarterback Jayden Daniels is on a rookie deal.
At 36, Von Miller was the Commanders' lead pass-rusher with nine sacks this season. He'll be a free agent, which leaves the club with Dorance Armstrong, Andre Carter and Javontae Jean-Baptiste as the only edge-rushers under contract with the team for 2026.
Crosby would be a massive upgrade on the edge and a new foundational roster piece in Washington.
In exchange for him, Las Vegas could recoup three draft picks and Jer'Zhan Newton, who made notable strides as an interior pass-rusher in 2025, logging five sacks and 11 pressures. The 2023 second-rounder is only 23 with tremendous upside.
