Trayce Jackson-Davis Reportedly Traded to Raptors, What Did Warriors Get in Return?

Scott PolacekFeb 5, 2026

Trayce Jackson-Davis is reportedly on the move.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Golden State Warriors traded the big man to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick that came via the Los Angeles Lakers.

Charania noted Toronto remained under the luxury tax with the move and also added "some needed size in the frontcourt."

Jakob Poeltl has not played since Dec. 21, and the Raptors have been more reliant on the combination of Collin Murray-Boyles and Sandro Mamukelashvili in his absence. Jackson-Davis is someone who can work into that rotation and may have more of an opportunity to contribute in Toronto than he did with Golden State.

The Indiana product entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2023 NBA draft but has never been more than a secondary contributor. While he started 37 games last season, he has started just one this season with 36 appearances.

He is averaging 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.4 minutes a night in 2025-26.

As for the Warriors, this is but a footnote on a busy Wednesday.

Charania reported they also traded Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Kristaps Porziņģis. While Porziņģis has not played since Jan. 7, he represents quite the upgrade for Golden State's frontcourt when he does return.

He could work in pick-and-rolls and pick-and-pops with Stephen Curry, take advantage of the open spacing created by the defensive attention the guard draws and even take some of the interior defensive responsibilities away from the undersized Draymond Green.

What's more, there figured to be fewer minutes to go around for Jackson-Davis with Porziņģis and Al Horford both playing in the big-man rotation in Golden State.

But now he gets to participate in a playoff pursuit with the Raptors considering they are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings but just a half-game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the four seed and home-court advantage in the opening round.
