'I Don't Give a F--k,' Jason Kidd Sounds Off on Critics of His Cooper Flagg Point Guard Decision

Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd says he isn't interested in what outsiders think about his decision to play Cooper Flagg at point guard during his rookie NBA season.

"Criticism? That's your opinion. You guys write that bulls--t," Kidd said Sunday when a reporter brought up a question regarding negative opinions surrounding leaning on a 19-year-old as a primary ball-handler.

Kidd continued, "I've done this. I've played this game. I've played it at a very high level. I know what the f--k I'm doing.

"I don't give a f--k what you guys write, because you guys have never played the game. So I build players, so I know what the f--k I'm doing. Taking criticism, it only makes me better, because if I wasn't doing it right, you guys wouldn't be poking holes in what I've done."

Kidd's response comes after Flagg posted two of his strongest performances of his rookie season in a three-day span.

Flagg set an NBA record by becoming the first teenager to record 49 points in a game during a Thursday loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

He then racked up 34 points and 12 rebounds in a Saturday defeat by the Houston Rockets that made him the first teenager to post back-to-back 30-point double-doubles.

The Mavericks ultimately suffered a fourth straight loss Saturday night, but Flagg's success while matched up with one of the league's top defenses is an indication of how much his ball handling has improved through the first 45 games of his NBA career.
