LeBron James Reacts to JJ Redick Joking NBA Will Try to Get Lakers Star to Compete in Dunk Contest
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has never competed in the Slam Dunk Contest over his 23-year career, but head coach JJ Redick joked that the league will try to get the 41-year-old involved after his three slam dunks during a 142-111 road win over the Washington Wizards on Friday evening.
"The early rumors are that the league is gonna try to get him to the dunk contest this year," Redick said. "There's some juice left in those legs apparently. The great left bionic leg."
James shot that down real quick.
James had a solid day at the office with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting, six assists and two steals. He also got up there with some impressive dunks for a veteran well into his third decade in the league.
While fans shouldn't expect James to take part in the Slam Dunk Contest on Feb. 14, he and the rest of the Lakers will play again soon on Sunday when they visit the New York Knicks.
