Lakers Icon Magic Johnson Expresses 'Surprise' At Blowout Loss to Cavs, 'Total Domination'
Magic Johnson was fired up to watch his former team take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Wednesday's nationally televised showcase game.
And then he was stunned by the outcome.
Following the Los Angeles Lakers' 129-99 loss, Johnson took to social media to express his "surprise" at the blowout nature of the contest.
As the Hall of Famer put it, Cleveland put on a show of "total domination" during the 30-point victory. Donovan Mitchell led the way with 25 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Jaylon Tyson added 20 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Much of the storyline was about LeBron James' return home to face his former team, and he was greeted with plenty of cheers from the Cleveland crowd. Yet he struggled at 3-of-10 shooting from the field for 11 points, while Luka Dončić spearheaded the Lakers' efforts with 29 points, six assists and five rebounds.
