LeBron James' Changes to Diet, Weight Loss Amid Injury Rehab Detailed in Lakers Rumors
As LeBron James spent the first part of this season rehabbing from sciatica, he also made changes to his diet in an attempt to help ease some of the pressure on his body now that he is into his 40s.
Per ESPN's Dave McMenamin, James cut out alcohol during the rehab process and cut weight to slim down as he looks for ways to take some of the burden off his back and joints.
James' listed weight on NBA.com is 250 pounds, but it's unclear if that is how much he actually weighs right now or just the stock weight the league has had him listed at in past years.
Even though James is among the most well-conditioned athletes of this generation, he is a well-known wine connoisseur. He has even been seen walking into the arena carrying a glass of wine.
James is also among the large contingent of athletes and celebrities who have invested in a tequila brand. He purchased a stake in Lobos 1707 that was originally founded by actor and documentary filmmaker Diego Osorio.
The changes James made to his diet habits seem to be working, at least so far. He has only missed three games, all of them on either the first or second night of a back-to-back, since making his season debut on Nov. 18.
Despite being the oldest active player in the NBA and the only player ever to play in 23 seasons, James remains incredibly productive on the court for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 21-time All-Star is averaging 22.4 points on 50.7 percent shooting, 6.7 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game in 28 starts.
