Will Mac McClung Compete in 2026 NBA Slam Dunk Contest? 3-Time Champ Makes Decision

Paul KasabianJan 24, 2026

Mac McClung, the three-time defending NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion, will not be participating in this year's competition.

McClung, who plays for the Windy City Bulls of the G League, is one of two three-time Slam Dunk Contest winners alongside former NBA guard Nate Robinson.

McClung is the only player to ever three-peat in the Dunk Contest.

In 2023, McClung got perfect scores of 50 on all of his dunks but one.

In 2024, McClung won the first round with a total of 97.4 points out of a possible 100.

In 2025, McClung was perfect on all four of his dunks.

Needless to say, both judges and fans loved his efforts, and it's unfortunate he won't be participating in this year's Slam Dunk contest, which is set for Saturday, Feb. 14 in Los Angeles' Intuit Dome.

No participants have been confirmed as of Saturday. The contest has featured four players since 2015, with 2021 being the lone exception with three.
