Ty Lue Reveals Clippers' 2026 NBA Trade Deadline Plans amid Latest Rumors
Los Angeles Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue revealed that he doesn't anticipate too much movement involving his team at the 2026 trade deadline, per Law Murray of The Athletic.
"If a team's trying to trade for you, then somebody wants you," Lue said, via Murray. "You could be in other guys' shoes where nobody wants you, nobody wants to trade for you, and then you're out of the league… In our situation, I don't see much movement. So I think we'll be good."
The Clippers are in an interesting position with the deadline drawing closer, as they only sit at No. 10 in the Western Conference standings with a 20-24 record.
Still, they've battled back from early injuries to key contributors and have won 14 of their past 17 games led by the veteran duo of Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.
Considering Los Angeles' recent success and the fact that the team doesn't own its own first-round pick in the upcoming draft, it's understandable that the front office isn't willing to sell at the deadline.
The Clippers also might not be making any major additions on the trade market, though.
Los Angeles could change its mind closer to the deadline, as the team can still find ways to upgrade its roster despite its strong play as of late. One potential method is adding more athleticism and speed, as the Clippers are the worst transition scoring team in the league this season by averaging a mere 18.2 points per game (via NBA.com).
The trade deadline is on Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. ET.
