'I Don't Give a F--k,' Kings' Dennis Schroder Sounds off on NBA Trade Rumors Ahead of Deadline
As someone who has bounced around the NBA during his 13-year career, Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schröder has a very healthy relationship with once again being mentioned in rumors leading up to the Feb. 5 trade deadline.
Speaking to reporters after the Kings' 123-118 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, Schröder said "I don't give a f--k" when asked about being mentioned as a potential trade candidate.
"At the end of the day, I enjoy every single day being in the NBA. I don't take it for granted," he added.

Schröder went on to say that the rumors don't really change the ultimate goal, which is to play hard and help the team win:
"Everybody else in this locker room, they're just going to play. Nothing is going to change really. You're going to have the same salary. Of course, you're going to have new teammates when something happens, a new organization, but at the end of the day, you're still one of 400 people in the NBA out of eight billion (in the world) who play this game, and I think everybody should look at it this way."
The Kings, whose 12-34 record is the second-worst in the Western Conference, figure to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline.
Per The Athletic's Sam Amick, Keon Ellis is drawing serious interest from teams and Domantas Sabonis is "worth monitoring" over the next two weeks.
Schröder's name hasn't come up a lot, though NBA insider Evan Sidery reported on Friday that the Orlando Magic have shown interest in adding him as a potential backup point guard.
Sacramento gave Schröder a three-year, $44.4 million contract in a sign-and-trade deal with the Detroit Pistons in the offseason. He is under contract through the 2027-28 season, which could complicate his trade value if teams don't want his salary on their books that long.
A first-round pick in the 2013 draft, Schröder has played for 10 teams in his NBA career. He has been traded in-season in three of the past four years and hasn't spent back-to-back seasons with the same team since 2018-19 and 2019-20 with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Schröder is averaging 12.8 points and 5.4 assists per game in 36 appearances for the Kings this season.
