Lakers' Bronny James Received Votes from Players to Start 2026 NBA All-Star Game
It appears as if some of the NBA players had fun with their All-Star Game ballots.
Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reported Monday that two NBA players voted for Bronny James as an All-Star starter. What's more, four voted for Isaac Jones, who has a grand total of five points this season.
James is a headline name as the son of the legendary LeBron James, but he is averaging just 6.9 minutes per game for the Los Angeles Lakers.
At least his 35 total points at 1.5 points per game is better than Jones, who has appeared in four games for the Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons.
Reynolds' report comes after the NBA announced the All-Star Game starters on Monday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers) and Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics) were named the Eastern Conference starters, while Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets), Luka Dončić (Los Angeles Lakers), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs) were named the Western Conference starters.
Notably, Bronny's father was not among the starters considering he has dealt with injury issues this season.
But the James family was apparently represented in the player votes. Players accounted for just 25 percent of the vote for starters, with fans accounting for 50 percent and the media accounting for 25 percent.
That means the six total votes for Bronny James and Jones were rather inconsequential even if they were notable.
