Curry has spent most of his career as an Under Armour athlete, but split with the company in November. In the months since, he's enjoyed the freedom that comes with wearing whatever he wants.
Curry has used it as an opportunity to pay homage to certain teams, athletes and iconic NBA moments through his sneakers.
Shortly after his departure from Under Armour, he wore Michael Jordan's "Flu Game" Air Jordan 12 in the tunnel before rocking the "Last Shot" Air Jordan 14 for warmups ahead of a matchup against the Utah Jazz, whom Jordan wore those iconic sneakers against.
He's gone on to wear shoes from athletes like A'ja Wilson, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Devin Booker and more.
Sanders spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Atlanta Hawks and played for the Atlanta Braves for four seasons while in the majors. Sanders' connection to Atlanta is likely why Curry chose to wear the iconic shoes against the Hawks.
Curry is putting together a strong season, averaging 28.7 points per game, but the Warriors are sitting in eighth in the West at 21-18.
