Anthony Davis Trade Rumors on Warriors Interest, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, More
Dallas Mavericks star big man Anthony Davis reportedly remains a trade target for the Golden State Warriors, but it sounds like a deal between the two teams isn't in the cards.
The Athletic's Christian Clark and Sam Amick reported that the Warriors have "discussed a Davis deal with the Mavericks, with team sources indicating that the door was not completely closed." However, a trade won't happen unless Golden State lets go of one of its biggest stars.
"Yet with the Warriors known to be staunchly against the notion of trading either Draymond Green ($25.8 million this season) or Jimmy Butler ($54.1 million), there is no realistic pathway to finding a deal that works financially," Clark and Amick stated.

Davis dropped 19 points, 16 rebounds, two assists and two blocks to help the Mavs (14-23) defeat the Sacramento Kings (8-29) 100-98 on Tuesday night. While he's dealt with calf and groin injuries this season, he's remained a force on both ends of the court when healthy.
The Warriors rank eighth in the Western Conference with a 19-18 record, so it's clear that they will need some improvements if they hope to contend for an NBA championship this year.
However, with high-priced players like Green, Butler and Stephen Curry, it doesn't seem feasible for Golden State to make a major addition before the Feb. 5 trade deadline.
