NBA Trade Rumors on Thunder's Deadline Plans, 'Can Be Known to Strike in the Dark'
As the team with the best record in the NBA, the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder aren't in a desperate need for more improvements, but that reportedly won't rule them out from exploring deals ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline.
ESPN's Anthony Slater reported that league sources "don't expect OKC to be very active at the deadline, considering the lack of rotation and future financial room to go along with a [30-7] record." However, he went on to point out that Thunder general manager Sam Presti "can be known to strike in the dark."

Wolves Suffer Worst Playoff Loss Ever
The Thunder are the only 30-win team in the NBA, but they suffered a disappointing 124-97 loss against the lowly Charlotte Hornets (13-23) on Monday night. Oklahoma City is now 4-4 in its last eight games, so perhaps there are some cracks starting to form in the foundation.
While the Thunder have the deepest roster in the league, they could still benefit from some reinforcements in their frontcourt. Starting center Isaiah Hartenstein has been in and out of the lineup while dealing with a calf injury, and his primary backup Jaylin Williams is currently sidelined with a heel injury.
Oklahoma City could be on the verge of becoming the league's next dynasty, so it wouldn't be a surprise if Presti makes a bold move to try to ensure that the franchise has the best chance to repeat as champion.
