Julia StumbaughJan 4, 2026

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry helped his father, Dell Curry, become part of a new NBA record Saturday night.

Curry made the 1,052nd regular-season appearance of his career by starting the Warriors' Saturday night matchup against the visiting Utah Jazz.

He and his father have now played 2,135 combined games in the NBA, marking the most games played by a father-son duo in league history, per The Athletic's Nick Friedell.

The record was previously held by Dolph Schayes and Danny Schayes, who combined for a total of 2,134 games, per Friedell.

Curry's father played 1,083 games for the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors between 1986 and 2002.

Curry is meanwhile playing his 17th season with the same organization that drafted him in 2009.

The Warriors have struggled early in the 2025-26 campaign while losing Curry to stretches of time due to ankle issues.

Golden State is heading into Saturday's matchup ranked No. 8 in the Western Conference following an 18-17 start to the season.

Curry will help his team climb the standings down the stretch by celebrating his historic return to the lineup with a win on Saturday night.
