
Cooper Flagg, Anthony Davis Applauded By NBA Fans as Mavs Beat Kevin Durant, Rockets
Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks snapped a four-game losing streak with a 110-104 home win over Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
Flagg finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Anthony Davis powered Dallas with 26 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks as the Mavericks bested their in-state rivals. Max Christie added 24 points and seven rebounds.
Dallas improved to 13-23 and remains outside the Western Conference top 10.
Durant led Houston with 34 points, seven assists and five rebounds, but his effort was not enough as the Rockets fell to 21-11 and dropped from third to fourth in the Western Conference.
Fans hyped up Flagg and Davis as they powered the Mavericks to a win over the Rockets.
Despite Houston scoring 31 points in the first quarter, the Mavericks carried a seven-point lead into halftime after outscoring the Rockets 32-19 in the second quarter.
Dallas was led by 16 first-half points from Davis, while Flagg added eight points and five assists. Houston's Durant entered the break with 16 points.
The Mavericks extended their lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter and held on throughout the final period, closing out a six-point victory.
Dallas will open a three-game road trip Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings.
