Jaylen Brown Says He's 'Best 2 Way Player' in NBA Amid Career Year with Celtics
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown is confident that there isn't another player in the NBA that can match his impact on both ends of the floor.
"Best 2 way player in the game," Brown wrote in a Wednesday post on X.
The four-time All-Star has thrived as Boston's top scoring option this season while Jayson Tatum continues to recover from a torn Achilles.
Brown ranks No. 6 in the NBA with his scoring average of 29.5 points per game, shooting a career-high 50.5 percent from the field while connecting on 37.0 percent of his threes.
He's also recording 6.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.2 steals on a nightly basis for a Celtics squad that sits at No. 3 in the Eastern Conference standings with a 20-12 mark.
While Brown's claim is bold considering the defensive prowess of other stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama, he's remained effective defensively throughout his 10th year in Boston.
Opponents are shooting just 42.6 percent from the field against Brown this season, ranking No. 1 among all Celtics players to appear in at least 15 games (via NBA.com).
It isn't difficult to imagine the 27-year-old earning his second career All-NBA selection by the end of his 2025-26 campaign.
