Jazz's Ace Bailey Reveals 'Welcome to the NBA Moment' During Devin Booker Matchup
Utah Jazz rookie Ace Bailey has put together a solid first season thus far, but he's also experienced a few "welcome to the NBA" moments.
On The Young Man and the Three, Bailey revealed that one such moment came in his first matchup against Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker. The Jazz faced the Suns in their third game of the season, and Bailey was benched early on because of the defense he was playing against Booker.
"Me coming in not knowing the physicality of the game, it's just different," Bailey said. "I mean, I have to adjust to that."
In Bailey's defense, not many people in the NBA can contain Booker, let alone a rookie in just his third game. Booker, a four-time All-Star, is putting up 25.4 points, 6.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds.
Bailey, the No. 4 overall pick in this year's draft is off to a solid start, averaging 10.7 points per game on 44.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from deep.
