Blazers' Jerami Grant Eyed As Trade Candidate by NBA Insiders, Top Landing Spots

Doric SamDec 23, 2025

Portland Trail Blazers veteran wing Jerami Grant is reportedly considered a potential trade candidate as the Feb. 5 deadline draws nearer.

Per NBA insider Jake Fischer, "external curiosity persists about Portland's willingness to part with" Grant in a trade this season.

If the Blazers decide to move Grant, some of his top landing spots include the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers.

After being limited to 47 games last season due to knee and ankle injuries, Grant seems to be back to his old self with a resurgent year this season. In 26 games with 14 starts, he's averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 38.9 percent from three-point range.

At 12-17, the Blazers are ranked 10th in the Western Conference and keeping the pace for a potential spot in the play-in tournament. However, Portland has been stuck in a rebuild for the past few years, so the team is no stranger to selling off its top assets to prepare for the future.

Grant is a versatile wing who can make an impact on both ends of the floor. The Lakers are hoping to contend for an NBA championship this season as star forward LeBron James nears the end of his legendary career, so adding more two-way depth would certainly help the team achieve its goal. Los Angeles leads the Pacific Division with a 19-8 record but ranks fourth in the West, so some reinforcements could be needed.

The Cavs (16-14) and Bucks (11-18) have been off to disappointing starts this season despite entering the year with championship expectations. Injuries have hurt both teams, so adding Grant would bring in a reliable contributor who could provide steady production on the wing.

Things will certainly heat up over the next few weeks as the trade deadline draws nearer, and Grant could emerge as one of the most coveted players on the market if he keeps up his strong season.
