JJ Redick Calls Out Lack of 'Consistency' from NBA Refs After Lakers Lose to Clippers
Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick was not happy with the officiating during Saturday's 103-88 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers and complained about the league's overall consistency in the aftermath.
"The consistency needs to be addressed; that needs to be addressed, and it will be," he said, per Dan Woike of The Athletic. "I think any coach, any player, what we ask for is consistency. That's not to single any official out or any crew out. It's not about that. We need to know what it is night to night.
"We've had a number (of calls) … and this is where I get frustrated a little bit and I keep asking the league to please reach out to me and respond every time I do the coach's feedback thing. I don't get any response from the league. Nobody ever reaches out to me."

The Clippers were actually called for 23 personal fouls compared to the Lakers' 19, and the Purple and Gold also enjoyed a 23-20 advantage on the free-throw stripe.
Yet there was surely some frustration from Redick's perspective that Kawhi Leonard ended up with 12 free throws, which helped him finish with 32 points despite shooting an ugly 8-of-24 from the field.
The officiating and Leonard free throws weren't the only concern for the Lakers during the loss.
Luka Dončić exited with a leg contusion and didn't play in the second half. The team was already playing without Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves and Deandre Ayton, which left the roster quite shorthanded around LeBron James.
James finished with 36 points, but there wasn't enough firepower around him to get the win.
The Lakers and Clippers will face each other again on Jan. 22, and the officiating will likely draw some attention again because of Redick's comments.
