Green received a technical foul for shoving Suns guard Collin Gillespie early in the second quarter before he was given another technical after arguing with official Pat Fraher over the call.

"I thought it was weak," Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the game, pers ESPN's Anthony Slater. "He definitely deserved one. But he's walking to the bench and yells something and second technical. We just saw a guy on their team literally punch Steph in the stomach the other night, premeditated, punches him in the stomach and no ejection for that. Two nights later, refs got upset with some words from Draymond. I totally disagreed."

It marked the four-time All-Star's first ejection this season.

The Warriors trailed by 10 points when Green was ejected, but stormed back to secure a 119-116 win over Phoenix.

The 2017 Defensive Player of the Year is known for his tendency to rack up technical fouls, as he already ranked No. 8 in the NBA with four technicals heading into Saturday's action.

Green was previously disqualified 20 times in the regular season throughout his first 13 years with Golden State (h/t ESPN's Anthony Slater).

He's still searching for more offensive consistency to open his 2025-26 campaign, averaging 8.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists and a career-high 3.3 turnovers per game on 39.1/33.0/65.2 shooting splits ahead of the matchup with the Suns.

Green has remained a key piece of Golden State's defense, though. The Warriors own the league's No. 3 defensive rating, boosted by a 107.8 defensive rating with the veteran forward on the floor (via NBA.com).

Golden State improved to 14-15 with the victory over Phoenix.
