Tyrese Maxey and V.J. Edgecombe powered the Philadelphia 76ers to a 121–114 victory over Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, stepping up once again with Joel Embiid sidelined.

Maxey led the way for Philadelphia on the second night of a back-to-back, scoring 38 points on 15-of-31 shooting while adding four assists. The performance came just one night after he erupted for 30 points in a road win against New York. Edgecombe also made a huge impact, contributing 26 points and six rebounds.

For Dallas, Cooper Flagg finished with 24 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Anthony Davis added 24 points and 14 rebounds. Naji Marshall also chipped in 22 points in the losing effort.

Maxey and Edgecombe thrilled fans in the win over Dallas, combining for 64 points to lead the 76ers offensively.

The win pushed the 76ers to 16–11, drawing them closer to the Boston Celtics as both teams battle for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Dallas dropped to 11–18, remaining just outside the top 10 in the Western Conference.

Philadelphia carried a six-point lead into halftime, powered by 22 points from Maxey. Dallas stayed within striking distance behind 12 points from Flagg and 14 from Davis at the break.

Both teams traded runs throughout the second half as the Mavericks kept pressure on the Sixers and prevented them from pulling away. However, timely plays from Maxey and Edgecombe down the stretch helped Philadelphia close out the win.

The Mavericks will look to regroup as they head to New Orleans to face the Pelicans on Monday and the 76ers will host Brooklyn on Tuesday.
